DIABETES DRUGS  HEART FAILURE RISK DEBATE

A number of diabetic patients who are taking rosiglitazone or pioglitazone are contacting us for advice following the media reports last week and over the weekend.

Our advice is to continue taking these medicines if either have been prescribed for you. The Medicines Agency is looking into the situation and will advise as soon as possible. It may be more harmful in the long term for patients to stop taking the medication rather than to continue.
