In line with Government guidelines we try to offer patients a choice of appointments so that they can either
- Book in advance
- Ring in and be seen the same day for a routine appointment - if appointments are available
- Ring in and be seen urgently on the day (not usually with your own doctor)
To enable us to do this we occasionally limit the number of appointments that can be booked in advance. Under normal circumstances however, and depending on the availability of the doctor, you can pre-book as far ahead as our computerised diary is made up.
If the doctor you are registered with is not available, you will be offered an alternative.
Please be advised by reception.
For same day appointments you can see our Triage Nurse or Doctor in our Acute Unit.
You can book an appointment by telephone or online via SystmOnline
Please note you will need to register for online booking (click here for more details)
Accessing your Doctor or Nurse
You may leave a message for your doctor or nurse and they will return your call as soon as possible. Non-urgent queries may not be responded to until the following day.
Please note that we have 9 staff answering the telephone in the mornings and that we can take over 1,000 calls within the first hour especially on a Monday morning! Because we have so many staff answering the phones this means that even if you are told you are e.g. 36th in the queue, you should be answered after the equivalent of only another 4 calls have been responded to.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
